Hudson Valley Podcasts

Podcasts help you get to know a culture, an area, a region.

For Rural Intelligence, I recently did a round-up of locally produced podcasts in the Berkshires, Litchfield County, Connecticut and the northern parts of the Hudson Valley.

I thought I would build on this with podcasts about the Hudson Valley itself. As more people move here and visit, podcasts are a great way to get to know this beautiful and rich area, rural and urban.

• Kaatscast: The Catskills Podcast - The other award-winning podcast, a biweekly series featuring Catskills culture, history, sustainability, local interviews, literature, and the arts. Produced by Silver Hollow Audio and hosted by Brett Barry (who is a guest editor of Cidiot). We did a crossover for Episode 77.
• Valley Girls Podcast -Jennifer and Jenny take on the valley one story at a time. They were on Episode 102.
• Hudson Valley Unleashed - A chef and a DJ go looking for the soul of the Hudson Valley
• Hudson Valley Storycatcher - New interview podcast out of Red Hook, NY with Jen Lee
• The Jiffy: Stories from Upstate New York - local culture and life upstate
• Nature Calls: Conversations from the Hudson Valley - Produced by Cornell Cooperative Extension, it’s about gardening, ecology and nature.
• Mid-Hudson Daily News - Daily news update for parts of the Hudson Valley
• Murder in the Hudson Valley - looks into notorious homicide cases from around the region. Spooky and fun.
